Since the early
1980's many artists have made the transition from craft to art in the unique,
interactive genre of kaleidoscopes. There is no gift like a kaleidoscope.
Whether an imposing parlor scope standing, waiting for the viewer or a tiny,
wearable scope available for amusement on that long plane ride, this is
personal art. At M&LG, you can buy kaleidoscopes in all price-ranges, and
all 'scopes are exceptional, carefully created by artists with a keen color
sense and a highly developed capability in multiple media.
Award-winning
artists and their work will be featured at M&LG in unique vertical showings
of an artist's work. Our gallery is on the web, focused at a worldwide audience
of artists, collectors, and retailers. We buy and sell limited editions and one
of a kind scopes sure to appreciate in value. We also sell scopes that are
often available at high quality craft shops which make outstanding additions to
a collection and deliver the "wow" factor in gift giving. We will be publishing
prices paid for scopes in this secondary market and lists of works increasing
in value. We hope to be your resource for valuing your collection.
We have been involved in the art market for Kaleidoscopes for most of the 20
years that this market has been growing. We published Mirrors and Light, a
full-color art tabloid for this market in the early 1990’s. Our relationships
with artists, retailers, and collectors have given us not only a clear
appreciation of the value of kaleidoscopes as collectable art, but the joy of
friendships as well. We hope you enjoy and benefit from what we have to offer.
