Virginia (Ginny) Nance, an Indiana artist, was a published needlework designer for over 15 years, but fifteen years ago she discovered the wonderful world of glass beads and jewelry making. Now retired from her profession as an educator, she devotes herself full-time to creating unique one-of-a-kind jewelry.
She continues to develop her skill in fused glass for jewelry as well as off-loom bead weaving using seed beads, accent beads, Japanese delica beads, and natural stone. She sometimes incorporates handmade glass beads in her jewelry from well-known blown glass and lampwork artists when they enhance her own fused glass pieces. Virginia’s work has appeared in juried shows throughout the United States, and she has received many awards. In demand as a teacher of beadwork techniques and glass fusing, she has presented for the Bead Society of Southeastern Virginia, Raleigh, NC, and Durham, NC. Virginia’s bracelets, neck pieces, pendants, and necklaces adorn both women and men throughout the United States. |
